A routine dental visit is more than a response to pain. Preventive care gives you and your dental team a chance to review your teeth and gums, discuss questions and decide whether anything needs attention. The CDC includes regular dental check-ups among preventive-care practices.

There is no single recall interval that is right for everyone. Your dentist can recommend when to return based on your oral health, history and risk factors. Keep any follow-up appointments the clinic has advised, even when you feel well.

If cost, anxiety or a busy schedule has made it difficult to book, tell the clinic. They can explain available options and help you plan a visit that works for you.

This article is general information, not a personal care plan. Seek advice from a dental professional for individual concerns.
